many people i know voted yes on prop 8, but this puts shame on me. I would vote no because who are people to take away that right. i'm ashamed at how people voted. love is love no matter what gender you like and weither it i your own or the opposite it sholdn't matter. to have the right of marriage and then to take it away is horrible. I'm straight and i'm still no on 8. People say just get domestic partnership it's the same. it's not the same. that is just a ontract and takes sometimes many people don't get it approved for years. marriage stands for love and nt just lovebut so called love forever. asking someone for marriage is so much more personal than domestic partnership. this is discrimnation agianst people whose sexual preferences are different than the normal. in fact i hate saying gay or homo or homosexual just because so many people use it as a deragatory term. I wish no on 8 had won and i cried. I cried for my friends who would not be able to marry i cried for my aunt who got married here not to long ago i cried for the lives that were ruined. what harm would it have been to marriage. they would be more thankful than the normal person. we take this for granted the ability to marry the divorce rate is sky high. when people who like the same gender fight so hard for their rights they are truely in love they would never take marriage for granted. i wish it had turned out differently for all those who wnted yes on prop 8 think about what you have done to those who are in love with the same sex. it shouldn't matter. it wouldnt have hurt you but you hurt them. this would have made the world this much better of a place but you threw that away and took away the right to choose. it was never going to be taught in school that it is okay to be gay it is jut who you are you don't learn it. you shouldn't have to fight for who you are. homosexual people are just as normal as those who are straight. i have many gay and lesbian friends and i support them copletely and stand up for them. we need to get over this childish concept that if you are different it is bad. i fight for equality. we all need to understand that love is love no matter what form it takes.
